Impressions are taken to allow Dr. Banning to make an exact plaster model of your teeth. They are completed by placing a tray filled with alginate (special impression material) over your bottom teeth and then over your top teeth. The impression material starts out with a mash potato consistancy and ends as a rubbery consistancy when it is ready to be removed. We use a material that also changes color so we can complete these impressions as quickly as possible. You will notice when we place it in your mouth it is purple/pink and will be white when it is removed. To make this process more enjoyable we will provide you with a list of flavors. Please feel free to view our video of an impression being taken on a patient.
