Dr. Lisa Banning is a proud native of Tamaqua. She graduated from Tamaqua Area High School in 1986 and then completed her undergraduate education at The Pennsylvania State University in 1990. In 1994, she finished second in her class and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University School of Dentistry. After graduation, she spent a year completing a general practice residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. Immediately after completion of this residency, she returned to Temple University for her orthodontic training. In August of 1997, Dr. Banning completed her orthodontic residency and has been in the private practice of orthodontics ever since. Her first six years of practice were spent in the Philadelphia area until opening her own practice in January of 2003. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and the Panther Valley Dental Society. She resides in Lehighton with her husband, Dr. Todd Banning, her two daughters Julia and Samantha, and her miniature goldendoodle Bella. She loves football (cheering for the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles), reading, hiking, camping, and traveling with her family.
